  • Submit a LaGuardia High School application. Apply to any/all of the six arts programs at NYC's audition Specialized High School by submitting a separate application and auditioning. This application is OPEN, and the deadline to apply is December 1. Learn more at schools.nyc.gov/HSAuditions.

  • Register for the SHSAT.  Registration for the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT) is also OPEN. Interested in one or more of the testing Specialized High Schools? If so, register for the SHSAT; taking this test is how you apply to these eight schools. Register by November 4.  Students will take the test in November or December, depending on their grade level and where they currently attend school––learn more at schools.nyc.gov/SHS.

  • Attend a virtual high school admissions event on October 11, 13, or 18. Learn about the high school admissions process, how to build a balanced application, and when and how to apply. For dates, times, and more event details, Join a Virtual Admissions Event.

You can apply to high school, apply to LaGuardia, and/or register for the SHSAT one of three ways:

    • If your child currently attends a NYC public school (DOE or charter), you can work with your child's current school to receive a copy of your welcome letter.

  • Through your current school counselor
