High School Application Information

How to Apply

  1. Log in to your MySchools account to access your application. Add 12 programs, all of which you'd be happy to attend. Listing 12 programs gives you the best chance to get an offer to a program you want. Be sure to place programs in your true order of preference, with your first choice as #1.

  2. Check the "Selection Criteria" section of each program's MySchools page to see if that program has any additional admissions requirements. For example, audition programs require an audition, and some screened programs require applicants to complete an interview or essay.

    • NEW - Learn how screened schools will make offers this year on the DOE's Screened Admissions page.

    • Find out how to prepare auditions for any programs that require them, including for Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, NYC's audition Specialized High School, on the DOE's  Auditions page

  3. Submit your application and complete any additional requirements by March 5, 2022. When you see the confetti, you'll know the DOE has received your application!

Please note: If you are applying to any programs at LaGuardia High School, don't list them on your application; this school uses a separate admissions process. Learn how to apply to these programs on the Specialized High Schools page.
