Important Information about a Change in Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

Due to construction occurring in the small yard, arrival and dismissal procedures will change beginning Thursday, January 5, 2023 for students in grades 2 through 5.  The small yard will no longer be accessible except for a narrow pathway leading from the gate to an entrance at Exit 5.

Arrival

NEW:  All students in grades 2 through 5 will enter through Exit 5.  This is not a change for students in grades 4 and 5.  Students in grades 2 and 3 will no longer be picked up by their teacher in the small yard.  They will go straight up to their classroom to begin their school day.

REMINDERS:

  • Do not drop students off before 7:50 a.m. as there is no staff supervision before this time.  While this is not a new policy, the change is that students will now have no access to the small yard as it will be closed off for construction.   Instead, if arriving early, please enter in the front of the building through Exit 2 for breakfast.

  • The back doors at Exit 5 will close at 8:15 a.m. for students entering in grades 2 through 5.  After 8:15 a.m., all students entering the main building must enter through Exit 1 and receive a late pass.

Dismissal

NEW:

  • Grades 2-3:  Dismissal sites will move to the yard outside of the mini building where PK-1 dismisses.

  • Grade 4:  Classes will be dismissed at Exit 8 on the west side of the building along with fifth grade.

  • Grade 5:  There is no change.  Dismissal continues at Exit 8.

Students will continue to be taken inside to the late room at 2:20 p.m.  It may take everyone a few days to adjust to the new dismissal procedures, but we thank you for your cooperation and patience in advance.  Your cooperation helps to facilitate a smooth and safe arrival and dismissal.
