Literacy Information Session
We will be holding a literacy information session on February 7th, 2023. Scan the QR code to learn about the MAPS assessment your child takes as well as literacy activities that you can take part in as a family to help increase your child's reading level.

PS 89's Scholastic Book Fair
We're excited to provide the opportunity for students to participate in the Scholastic Book Fair. Between 12/13 and 12/20, all classes will visit the book fair. Every student will receive a free book!

Holiday Spirit Week
Week of December 19th
The winning class with the most school spirit wins pizza party!
Monday: Flannel & Fuzzy Sock Day, wear your favorite flannel and/or fuzzy winter socks
Tuesday: Winter Wonderland, dress like you're dreaming of snow and wear all white
Wednesday: Winter Hat or Headband Day, wear your favorite winter hat or a winter or holiday headband, PTA selling headbands for $3
Thursday: Ugly Sweater Day, wear an ugly, over the top sweater or make one that is extra tacky by adding outrageous stuff on it
Friday: Pajama & Sweats Day, dress like you are cozying up for some holiday movies at home, must be school appropriate
Community Book Fair
Tuesday, November 23, 2021
The Book Fair took place in the large yard. There were craft stations, hot cocoa, and free books! Each family that filled a bag with books had the opportunity to receive a turkey.
Meet the Author: Egypt Bush
Egypt Bush is a 7 year old author who started writing books during quarantine. She draws her inspiration from everyday life and encourages everyone to find the hero in them. She shares her love for writing with students by visiting schools and writing books.
